With loving memories!

Love
Marcia & Dad

Chuckie, it's not supposed to happen - A son dying before his Dad
The bond between a son and parents - Forged by God to be ironclad
We know you fought your demons - And we know you tried your best
We all recognized your pain - Each day was a bitter test!!

I remember the magic moments - When you were my little guy
"Dad throw me up in the sky" - Your little voice would cry
Or that lonely moment - With your first penalty shot on goal
Little 9 year old Chuckie - Made it look easy like taking a stroll!!

Your Umpa put you on skates - When you were barely three
That's my grandson, he'd yell - His voice all filled with glee
Mom became your chauffeur - With 2 or 3 hockey games per week
Whenever Southwest beat Edison - With delight you and the team would shriek!!

Your sister Tam was your protector - Trying to make everything okay
As a kid you tagged along - Listening to whatever Tam had to say
She tried to block your pain - And would have gladly taken your place
Your smile was so contagious - Lighting up your entire face!!

Your painting buddies remember - How compassionate was your heart
Rather than kill a tiny spider - You'd take it outside and give it a new start
And the love you had for Neely - Even talking to her on the phone
And you probably petting her head - That last night you and Neely alone!!

Your grandma Ree adored you - Oh how you made her smile
Chuckie you could work a room - You had panache and style
But Marcia's mother said it best - "Charlie brightens up my day
He doesn't treat me like a white haired old lady - But special in every way"!!

Chuckie, it just doesn't seem real - I've been waiting for you to call
And say, "Dad, Lisa and I are doing fine - Really, it was no big deal at all"
But I know my boy is gone - No more hugs and a quick little kiss
You're with Umpa, Grandma and Kevin - And finally you feel some bliss!!

And that's what gets us through - Knowing our Chuckie's in a better place
We cry because we miss you - While you shone in God's loving grace
So please remember one thing - Our little Chuckie was one of a kind
And though we're not together - You'll always be on my mind!!
