Happy 87th Birthday Mother
Love from All Your Family
It' been a long race - But you've weathered it
well
You raised your four children - Who sometimes raised hell
But you were the mother - And though sometimes it got rough
You stuck with your family - Through the smooth and the rough!
You grew up in the country - And played with the boys
There was Kenneth and Neil Duncan - They were your toys
You had a horse and a buggy - That you'd drive into town
Even then you were laughing - There was never a frown!
There was the time you and the Duncans - Played
that old trick
You hung up a scarecrow - And laughed till you were sick
But the folks from the city - Fell for it all
They thought someone got hung - And gave the cops a call!
You taught school in the country - And drove a
Model T
Until you married a mailman - And started your family
When they were half grown - You went back to school
You liked teaching the children - But rules were rules!
You and your family - Had animals galore
You taught your boys to milk cows - Among other chores
You always worked hard - Remember those days
You'd butcher 50 chickens - And put them away!
You'd sell sweet corn and strawberries - To the
grocery store
You'd pick from morning till night - And they still wanted more
But it wasn't all work - Of course there was fun
You'd watch your children play sports - Always on the run!
Though the time has kept moving - Your smile still
shines bright
Your friends at Catholic Eldercare - Are keeping things just right
So Happy Birthday Dear Mother - And so there's no doubt
if you put your hand to your ear - You can hear us all shout!
"We love you"
