Happy 89th Birthday Mother!!

You’ve had a big year - And you’ve
had a good time
With two new, great grand kids - And the number
ready to climb
Joan’s been here twice - To take care of
your needs
As well as do sing a longs - And get everything
up to speed!!
We had a big family gathering - In August, as
you recall
With all of your family - Coming here and having
a ball
We had plenty of food - And we even played games
It got a little loud - But I wasn’t to
blame!!
I’m the second son - There are two more
boys and Joan
We grew up in Illinois - With the rest of the
Dauphin Clan
Ed’s in Apple Valley - Phoenix, is where
Neal lives
Joan’s in D.C. - Where music lessons she
gives!!
A little bit of history - About our Mother,
known as Ree
She grew up on a farm - Then got her teaching
degree
She taught in the country - Until she got married
She then raised her family - And Pa, got the
mail carried!!
With her youngest in school -Back to teaching,
she did go
She taught the 6th grade - Until her retirement,
don’t you know
She always was happy - And looked at the bright
side
She was quick to say hello - And from work she
didn’t hide!!
In the summer she raised strawberrys - Selling
them to the store
We also had chickens - And we kids, did that
chore
Every Summer in June - On vacation we’d
all go
We traveled the country - So our geography,
we all know!!
Mother’s been busy - With all of these
new little kids
Making blankets and socks - And maybe even some
bibs
My sister will soon be coming - This November,
I believe
Mothers need their daughters - The sons are
too naive!!
She loves it here at Eldercare - And it’s
her birthday, just today
Her smile is like the sunshine - A sparkling
little ray
So happy, happy birthday - Oh mother dear of
mine
As long as you keep smiling - We know you’re
doing fine!!
