Jerry Magee, the lawyer, and what a lawyer you
are
When people are in trouble, they call for you,
especially if theyre drunk in their car
You say you cant quite believe it, people
pay for your advice
I suggest you give them confidence, especially
if theyve been caught twice
Your satisfied customers are many, and some of
these characters are bad
Youve represented whores and state auditors,
even some guy that sued his dad
Your memory was your biggest weapon, if they lied,
theyd better recall
For you never, ever, forgot a fact, and youd
use it to cause their fall
You were tough when you were fifty, at thirty
Ill bet you were a prize
Arm wrestling and beating some of the Vikings,
Ill bet there was awe in their eyes
Health issues were not your personal forte, fine
gin was something else, though
Youve always been on the fast track, and
youd travel just as fast as you could go
Family for you was important, too bad others didnt
feel the same way
You had a human side and you shared it, I remember
the advice I got one day
You and Marge have a family to be proud of, and
now you have grandkids galore
But you still find time for traveling, the two
of you have hit every shore
As a kid you had your own pigeons, and you fly
them even today
Inside this tough old lawyer, is a kid waiting
to play
When you decide to hold a party, for food and
drink you spare no cost
And youve helped many that needed direction,
one fellows soul was lost
Youll probably just keep on lawyering, till
they lay you down to rest
Quite frankly thats probably good, cause
Magee youre one of the best
So I wish you the best in the future, and I might
as well tell you why
If ever, I needed a lawyer, Magee, youd
be my guy!!
