Congratulations Jodi & Duke!!

Now I’m the Bestman - For the guy I know as Duke

We were kids when we met - But it was more than a fluke

Let me give you some history - And maybe have a little fun

Relax now Duke - I’ll say nothing that will stun!!

How does it go - I think it’s birds of a feather

And my friend Duke - Will stick, when it’s stormy weather

We met in 9th grade - At old Southwest High

We’ve been friends every since - Because Duke’s quite a guy!!

At first there was Kevin and me - And Duke with his old truck

If the school day got too long - We’d ride away in it, with a little luck

Away we would go - Figuring at last we were free

Enjoying the Spring time - Out on a spree!!

Once on Spring Break - Down in Old Mexico

I was there with my folks - And Duke showed up, wouldn’t you know

We’d both gone on short notice - Unbeknownst to the other one

But what a time we had - We really had fun!!

Like everyone else, Dukes got a dog - Buddy is his name

We call him the pscho-dog - Because he really is insane

Duke loves the outdoors - And has all of the stuff

Trucks, boats and motorcycles - He’s no powder-puff!!

Let me tell one last story - I know many will remember this

It was on the 4th of July - When our friend Sarah went amiss

In front of 30 people - An unforgetable act did ocurr

But we were having so much fun - I guess my memory’s just a blur!!

I’ve noticed since meeting Jodi - Duke has a greater love of life

She’s been a settling influence - And I’m glad that she’s his wife

And now let’s all raise our glasses - And toast the bride and groom

We wish you a lifetime of happiness - Each of us in this room!!
