Whatever Happened to Mad Dog Vachon!!

I've often thought and wandered - Whatever happened to the Mad Dog
He used wrestle Vern Gagne - And had a screaming dialogue
He came from French Algeria - Him and his brother showed up
I guess when he first started wrestling - Mad Dog was just a pup!!

I remember him wrestling the Crusher - The Milwaukee beer guzzling guy
The afternoon warm-up at WTCN-TV - Saturday night would be Do or Die
The Crusher grabbed Old Mad Dog - Throwing him into the ring post
When Mad Dog's head came up - His face was white as a ghost!!

His head had been split wide open - He was bleeding like a stuck hog
He also was screaming like one - And jumping around like a frog
The referee stopped the match - As they hauled the Dog away
The main event for Saturday night - Would have to be fought another day!!

Be it Black Jack Lanza or Bull Bullinski - Mad Dog fought them all
Larry The Ax or Red Bastien - He'd fearlessly answer their call
Even when his heyday was over - And he was starting to get old
He ran across a guy named Jessie - Who was mouthy, shaggy and bold!!

That didn't scare old Mad Dog - For when trouble came his way
He'd spit in your eye and bite you - For that was the only way to play
Young Jessie might have been bigger - But his trick bag was pretty small
When Mad Dog gouged his eyes - Jessie knew he was in a brawl!!

That was their only meeting - Nobody really knew why
I suspect Jessie avoided him - For Jessie was that kind of guy
For Mad Dog was wild - And fear he could smell from afar
That's why the fans loved him - And made him their wrestling star!!

Mad Dog later got hurt - Losing one of his feet
No longer able to jump around - He sits shaking hands when you meet
But he's still a fan favorite - Happy and crusty as ever
Selling shirts about long ago - For Mad Dog is still pretty clever!!

And if the time arrived - He'd still go one on one
With Jesse "The Whatever" Ventura - And I'd bet he'd get the job done
So Mad Dog I salute you - For being the character you are
And when it comes to wrestling - You'll always be my star!!
