THANK YOU MINOT KIWANIANS!!!

Bud Dauphin/ Columbia Heights/Fridley Kiwanis

September 1995

It was my first convention, so to Minot I went

It really was fun, and I was glad I was sent

Everything planned, went off without a hitch

We even had Dr. Blechman, who gave a great pitch

Money was raised, for salt plants to buy

Iodine Deficiency’s a problem, we’ll wipe it out, that’s no lie

I met the International President, and the new District Governor, as well

I learned a lot about Kiwanis, now it’s clear as a bell

Children Priority One, Kiwanis impact is great

If we all keep on working, what a legacy we’ll make

I’ve attended many conventions, where the food was quite poor

But up there in Minot, I kept asking for more

You folks on the home front, I hope you’re real proud

The music was great, and it wasn’t too loud

The tours you provided, for the spouses and all

They’re still talking about it, and the zoo was a ball

But the reason for this thank you, and I’ll try to be clear

I attended the auction, and bought the cabinet, my wife held dear

Well, then came the morning, the day we were to depart

You see, I got caught up in bidding, I know it wasn’t too smart

So I walk up to this fellow, who’s got a big happy smile

I know he’s from Minot, and talk to him awhile

No one that I know, has a car big enough

Would you mind shipping this, I hope it’s not too tough

This guy looked so honest, I didn’t worry at all

And the cabinet arrived on Wednesday, it’ll be full before Fall

But now to the chase, of this poetic tale

I want to thank you, Gary Holum, you did your job without fail

It’s not everybody, who would work with a smile

When a stranger approaches, with a job that takes awhile

You were a host and gentleman, and handled the mob

You Kiwanians from Minot, did a wonderful job!!

THANK YOU!!!
