St. Philips was very lucky, a charter member you
became
The early days were simple, with growth it wasnt
the same
You and Mabel did the cleaning, 25 years you scrubbed
and sweat
In 1983 Mabel retired, but you, werent quite
done yet
You mowed the lawn most faithful, with loving
care each week
Your unselfishness was recorded, but no glory
did you seek
St. Philips is a showplace, how many churches
have a lake
Yards are fun and showy, but, they must be mowed,
for heaven sake
You took your job quite serious, no matter what,
the lawn was mowed
A simple illness was never noticed, though you
were proud, it never showed
We wanted to show our appreciation, to a man who
made his mark
For your hard work and dedication, in our hearts
you bring a spark
For 38 years you did your duty, a faithful member
among the best
St. Philips was your priority, and you always
passed the test
Helping others on their journey, is a very noble
cause
In that regard, youve set the standard,
time and again without pause
So hold your head up high my friend, and remember
yesteryears
Some seemed harder than others, but each of them
are dear
You really should be happy, with joy your heart
be filled
St. Philips is spreading the word of God, the
church that you helped build
Though now your work is over, we want to leave
you with this thought
Youve earned your place in heaven, though
the fame you never sought
So in closing Mr. Rossing, it wont be easy,
but well try
To keep the lawn as pretty, as our friend did,
that Rossing guy!!
