LET’S ALL PAY OUR SHARE!!

I’m sorry to do it, but I’ve got to speak out

It’s easy to ignore, but it’s about time to shout

We’re in this together, whether we like it or not

We’ve a mortgage to pay, that can’t be forgot

We’ve been given incentives, in The Friend, if you read

Allen quotes us the scriptures, to help us overcome greed

Okay, don’t tithe, of all that you earn

But at least lets contribute, there’s a lesson to learn

Sure there are times, when conflicts there’ll be

When Paul Lindstrom got fired, I didn’t agree

For Paul was the guy, who got me to pledge

He said the church needs a budget, or it’ll be on the edge

We have almost one thousand, family units to give

If everyone participated, then all of us could live

But only one third, are playing the game

It’s not a very good record, in fact it’s a shame

It’s easy to get pompous, when the truth isn’t known

Let’s list all the givers, with each name being shown

Sure it’s easy to say, let your humbleness show

I’m proud to support St. Philips, and I want everyone to know

If your not willing to give, then stand up and speak

There were surveys and questions, don’t be so meek

But the fact still remains, the majority spoke

We’re expanding the church, and I’ll help pull on the yoke

So there’s something the matter, when only one third

Respond to a problem, that others treat as unheard

So come on folks, let’s all get on board

We’ve a beautiful church, so let’s go and serve the Lord

We’ve done a great job, to show those in need

That we’re willing to help, we’re not about greed

So let’s move now in haste, and step up to the plate
