Please Settle This Strike!!

Now who are we to believe - What is really causing this strike

The company keeps runnings ads - And the pilots have taken a hike

It’s obvious there’s animosity - As each side has taken its shot

It’s like a battle between two titans - The Have’s and those that Have Not!!

But lets all just calm down - What’s this problem all about

It really comes down to money - And those with the most, have the clout

And who pulled this airline out of trouble - When it was going down the drain

The employees took a pay cut - In hopes of future financial gain!!

Back then we all were buddies - As the turn around kicked in

The money started rolling - And on every face there was a grin

The profits for the owners - Were staggering to say the least

So they offered themselves a bonus - They had to feed that beast!!

Big John took the money - Then put it back to stem the roar

Greed’s a nasty fellow - When it comes knocking at your door

The pilots got stock for the paycut - And it sailed up in the charts

But as the strike became imminent - It fell down and broke their hearts!!

It seems both sides are losing money - So why do they persist

The pilots fear for layoffs - But what’s the company’s twist

If they cave in to the pilots - Are the machinists next in line

And what about the Cabin Attendants - Behind closed doors, they whine!!

Well, what about the consumer - The Minnesotan’s who bailed you out

We didn’t get any stock - When our flights were late or in doubt

It’s time both sides got serious - And stopped the PR stuff

And sat down and negotiated - Quite frankly, we’ve had enough!!

The guys that own this airline - Were making money hand over fist

Checci, Wilson and Big John - Are all on the richest Minnesotan’s list

So why not do it fairly - Both sides should be sincere

And stop trying to woo the public - With all that PR veneer!!

Most of us have no idea - Or concept of the money you earn

But we understand a cancelled flight - Or not being able to return

A vacation that was planned - Which we could only take that week

So put your heads together - Look at each other and speak!!
