The Man In The Jug.Com

I'm the Man In the Jug - I peer out constantly
Always looking for goodness - Something seldom that I see
That very special person - Who unaffected walks by
Not trying to impress - Or to even catch my eye!!

Oh, they do their jobs well - And they're usually well paid
They enjoy what they do - But they don't act staid
They're good to their fellow workers - And have a fair mind
They know they got lucky - Realizing they're not one of a kind!!

It was a deal of the cards - The right place at the right time
It was not an act of God - And not necessarily an easy climb
But many could have done it - If given the same chance
With this eye opening realization - They carry no arrogance!!

They are not dumb and blind - And don't like what they see'
Peers filled up with greed - Buzzing around like hungry bee's
Taking all that they can - Knowing it really makes no sense
How much can one person spend - Will there be a consequence!!

The more that they get - The more that they want
They're in a closed club - And hey, it's fun to flaunt
They actually start believing - That they are special indeed
If you want to be successful - They're help you will need!!

One day it all ends - The free ride comes to an end
There is suddenly accountability - No more extra dividend
The rats all start running - Jumping off the sinking ship
Pleading the 5th Amendment - In front of Congress they yip!!

Their company is broke - The stockholders are mad
But it wasn't their fault - The accountants were bad
They take no responsibility - But the stock options they want
No longer are they cocky - Their faces are gaunt!!

They just want to go home - And live a quiet life
Do a little charity work - And live quietly with their wife
Some will become teachers - After the heat has cooled down
Some will be consultants - Sipping drinks and holding court up town!!

Others will go to jail - Hey, someone must take the rap
They were either the greediest - Or an unlucky chap
All will behave with honesty - Then slowly it starts anew
Once again many are hurt - By the greed of just a few!!

But in this crazy world - Of malice, ego and greed
There are a few ethical men - Not a lot, I'll concede
But they have a code of honor - And a sense of fair play
Knowing that sometime soon - Might come their judgement day!!

This is the person we want - To honor with our award
Someone who played it straight - On and off the record
The Man In The Jug Award - Given to only a chosen few
Good people with caring hearts - People like me and you!!
