To Walter from your pal Bud Dauphin

11/10/96

I watch with fascination - The operation of the First Ward

Was Alderman Dziedzic crowned King - Or Knighted by sword?

In the days of old - Alderman courtesy held true

It was folks like you, Walter - Who cried loudest, the blues!

It just wasn’t fair - Rules were made for us all

Apparently that’s changed - Does the First Ward have a wall?

If a survey were taken - One fact would ring true

Alderman Dziedzic is a hero - If he happens to be for you!

At times he’s predictable - He’ll take care of his own

But when the city’s up for grabs - He’s the first on the phone

Sometimes he’s a hero - Everyone is glad

Then he gets cute - In the end, they’re all mad!

But let’s get to the point - Is it really fair

To prohibit ticket writing - In King Dziedzic’s lair

Oh! yes please don’t cross him - He’ll fire at will

He remembers forever - There’s always that due bill!

But come on Walter - Let the folks do their job

Stop bullying the little people - Are you the Polish Mob?

Even the violators - Can’t keep a straight face

We could park here forever - and there’d never be a trace!

Oh you’ve done some good - And you work very hard

But you sometimes don’t get it - This isn’t your private yard

Now go to the mirror - And look yourself in the eye

Ask, "Should I be doing this - And if so Why?"
