Block out the Voices!

Block out the voices, The sound of defeat
They’re always around, From you happiness they cheat
They come from your brain, Or at least so you think
Their chatter is endless, If from their fountain you drink!!

They bring up the past, And what you should have done
Had you followed my lead, You surely would’ve won
What if they don’t love you, They whisper into your ear
They breed doubt and destruction, As they fill you full of fear!!

Just one more drink, It will surely calm your nerves
Hey, you’ve worked hard, It just what you deserve
And then when you follow, And lifes miseries get worse
They just laugh in your face, You fell for their curse!!

When worry fills your mind, Of happenings you dread
Just take a deep breath, And chase the voices from your head
Then look at it rationally, Of what you must do
It becomes much less frightening, When fear isn’t the issue!!

Don’t get concerned, For you’re not alone
Each of us have voices, That try to drone and drone
Some think it’s a higher power, That voice from on high
Which gives only right answers, Being a friend and ally!!

But the opposite is true, And so easy to test
Out of all of heaven’s secrets, This is one of the best
Block out those voices, Just think where you are
Remain and think in the present, The voices will call it bizarre!!

Yes it takes practice, But that’s all you have to do
Remain and think in the present, Suddenly life will be brand new
Some call it magic, A Universal Principal of life
Call it whatever you want, But let it eliminate your strife!!

For each of us individually, Our own reality we can create
It doesn’t have to be unpleasant, Or be totally left up to fate
Just take this small step, And turn off each voice
Then be aware of what's happening, Now you have Free Choice!!
